Kia ora, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Kia Orana, Faakalofa lahi atu, and Greetings.
It’s time for our first update for both the OC, HC, SEHC Alumni (Alumni) and 60 Year Reunion Celebration (Reunion) event.
ALUMNI NEWS
The Alumni webpage has been live on the internet for approximately 4 weeks now and to date we have 36 past students and staff registered to the Alumni. We really want this number to grow so that the people who formerly register receive the benefits of becoming a Registered Member. There are photos, stories, and biographies already posted on the Alumni Page and many many more will start to appear as time goes on. COME ON PEOPLE ….SPREAD THE WORD – we want MORE REGISTERED MEMBERS !!!
60 YEAR REUNION CELEBRATION NEWS
The countdown has started to the 60 Year Reunion Celebration. ONLY 520 DAYS to GO !!! As mentioned in an earlier post, the Reunion will take place from Friday 2nd October 2026 until Sunday 4th October 2026. Time will fly from now on and this event will be on us before we know it !!!
Currently ONLY 27 Past Students and Staff have registered their interest in attending this event. Of those 27, a huge thank you goes to the following people who have confirmed their attendance to the first meeting on Friday 2 May 2025 @ 6.30pm at SEHC: Daryl AFEAKI, Pi’ilua AUTUFUGA, Ruka BENIONI, Rereata BENIONI, Ioane Aleke FA’AVAE, Nelson FESOLAI (Melbourne Australia)Lisa HEKE, Gary PEACH (Alumni Chair), Erin POA (nee COOPER – Alumni Secretary), Chrissie TITO (nee Thompson), and Dalwyn WIRIHANA.
We have had an apology from Vasati VAOIVA (nee START) who is still very keen to be part of the Organising Committee. Vasati is currently the SEHC Junior School Principal and it is fantastic to have her involved.
We also have had an apology from Jazmine GREIG (nee MAUTAIRI – ALUMNI Finance Manager), Jazmin is willing to be the Alumni “link” at all 60 Year Reunion Committee Meetings and will report back to the Alumni accordingly. Jazmin is currently the Principal at Yendara Primary School and how wonderful it is to have 2 former students from our school coming back in the roles of Principals in Otara.
It would have been nice to have more numbers but from these people, a 60 Year Reunion Celebration Committee will be elected. The current SEHC Senior School Principal, Donna TUPAEA-PETERO will also be in attendance and warmly welcomed to be part of this milestone celebration of the schools. Gary Peach (Chair)
