Kia ora, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Kia Orana, Faakalofa lahi atu, and Greetings.
Welcome everyone to our latest update. Lots of movement since our last update, which I will elaborate on further:
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SEHC
FANTASTIC NEWS !! – We have now finalised the MoU with the SEHC Board and this has been tabled and approved at the August 2025 Board of Trustees meeting. All that is required are final signatures by all parties. This ensures that the Alumni and Principal’s of all three SEHC Schools are in alignment with what is necessary for us to function. Part of that MoU was for the Alumni to have their own space in the Senior School as well as storage for merchandise. This means that we will be able to operate day to day tasks and meet when necessary.
SEHC Senior School Principal Update
A new SEHC Senior School Principal has been appointed and we will update you on this appointment next month with a brief profile of her journey to SEHC. We would like to take this opportunity to thank, very sincerely, Donna Tupaea-Petero – the Interim Principal, for her wonderful support in the initial stages of helping us to sort out the MoU and the Alumni Committee.
Alumni Membership Numbers
Currently we have 60x Alumni members. Thank you so much for this support.
60th Year Reunion Registrations of Interest
We are running the database for the 60th Year Reunion Celebration and have already reached 136x expressions of interest.
REGISTRATIONS !!!!!!!!
We still need more people to attend this event so please continue to “spread the word” by advertising the following link to our Alumni page www.ochcsehcalumni.org.nz telling them to then click on the maroon icon “60 Year Reunion Celebration Registration of Interest”.
Personal Profiles
This is an opportunity for you, on our website, to let people know where and what you have been up to since leaving school all those years ago. If you are interested, just provide a photo and a little blurb with the information you would like to be known and forward this information to the following email address: ochcsehcalumni@gmail.com.
Merchandise
We now have some designs for the Alumni Merchandise, produced by Daryl Afeaki and Tokoa Tuakana, if you are interested in purchasing any. Obviously we will need orders etc but before that we will get samples made up and these will be advertised in the November Alumni Update.
Obituary
Please do let us know if you would like to do a memorial article for your loved one that has passed away.
