Time is moving fast and the 60th Year Reunion Celebration will be upon us before we know it. Seven months to go, 216 Days and counting down to be exact. `

SEHC Marae Accommodation for the 60th Year Reunion Celebration – Alumni Members
The 60th Year Reunion Committee Update
Not much to report on here since December’s report. The 60th Year Reunion Celebration Committee (Reunion Committee) has not come back to the Alumni Board with any progress on venue or costs or a confirmed program of events for the weekend. We eagerly await this vital information and hope that it comes after they have had their next meeting.
The Alumni Board will pass on any further information forthcoming from the Reunion Committee. An email will be sent asking for important information so that former students and staff can plan accordingly for the Reunion on 2nd October – 4th October.
Alumni Responsibilities for the 60th Year Reunion Celebration
If you didn’t already know, as part of the weekend program the Alumni Board are responsible for the Friday night “Meet and Greet Event ” at the SEHC School Hall. The Alumni Board is suggesting some Guest Speakers for the Reunion Committee to discuss as part of the program. We are thinking of three speakers at this stage but will confirm these speakers once they have been ratified by the Reunion Committee and asked.
The (MoU) between SEHC and the OC,HC,SEHC Alumni
The MoU between SEHC and the Alumni has been agreed to by all parties, signed by the interim Alumni Chair and handed back to the SEHC Board of Trustees for them to sign and forward a copy to the Alumni Board. The Alumni Board at the time of writing is still awaiting this document.
Potential Interviews of former Staff / Students
The Alumni Chair will be approaching former students and staff for interviews in regard to their experiences they remember while at either Otara College, Hillary College or Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate (SEHC) and about “life after school”. Looking forward to seeing those coming up monthly or as they can be arranged.
Alumni space at SEHC
As mentioned, in December’s report, the SEHC Senior Principal, Christine Pili, has allocated a lovely work space for the Alumni Board to operate out of at SEHC. The Chair and Secretary will move all memorabilia and archived photographs that are available at present, into this space very soon. Alumni Merchandise and the Reunion Merchandise will also be stored in this space.
Update on Alumni Merchandise.
The Alumni Board has approved for samples of Alumni Merchandise to be made and are still awaiting the arrival of the samples. We hope to have these samples on display by the next report for you to purchase.
Alumni Membership Fees for 2026
Website Registrations
The website is now ready to take the OC, HC, SEHC Alumni Registrations for 2026 @ $20 per person for the financial year 1/1/2026-31/12/2026. We hope you will renew again and support our Alumni collective – https://ochcsehcalumni.org.nz. Your membership fee will cover administration costs and maintenance of the Alumni webpage.

If you decide to pay via our bank account below, please confirm your Membership details to ochcsehcalumni@gmail.com so that we can manually enter you into our website so you can be allocated user details to access our Alumni content.

Please note moving forward your 2026 Alumni user login and passwords will end on the 31st of December. You will however be included in any email updates in January and February as reminders to renew your Membership.
OC,HC,SEHC Alumni Constitution.
Alumni Board member, Robyn Russell (nee Knapper), and the Board Chair, Gary Peach, are putting together an OC,HC,SEHC Alumni Constitution. This has yet to be completed and we will endeavour to have it completed by the May report. The Constitution has been created to go with a proposed application for the Alumni to become an Incorporated Society should they wish to.
SEHC Marae Accommodation for the 60th Year Reunion Celebration – Alumni Members
The Alumni Board can confirm that the SEHC Marae has been booked for accommodation for any financial Alumni members who want to stay, at a cost, for the weekend. Costs will be confirmed in the next monthly report, you will need to be a 2026 member to receive these details. Priorities will be given to “out of towners” either from overseas or outside of Auckland.
All profits will come to the Alumni and then back to SEHC in some way or form to support the school with targeted projects or whatever is needed in collaboration with the three SEHC Principals.
There will be an update sent out to our 2026 Membership again at the end of March 2026. We look forward to you being on the list.
